20. Too Many Muscles

Love comics. Love web-comics, but I was running out. An advert appeared appeared on the Questionable Content site (go and read it, it's a great web-comic!) for Artifice; a sci-fi web-comic with a gay theme. 

I thought, "great, yaoi written by men for men!" :D

The sexy scenes made me blush, despite reading Oglaf on a regular basis. Alex Woolfson is a babe, he's also written another called the Young Protectors. Even if you're not a gay/bi man, you should read them. It's packed with sci-fi goodness for the geek in everyone :D 

Also, I have my own signed copy of Artifice! :D

17. Religion (4 Heathens and a Jesus Freak)

This one was drawn in July 2012! It was more of a practice, than an actual panel. It features Trev, yours truly (holy shit, with no beard!), a friend from years ago, Kuro and Dave (aww, look how cute he looks. He's got a big bushy beard now, not so cute lol).

I took the inspiration from, again, from Humon's Scandinavia and the World. Like I said, it was a practice sketch, see Humon's panel here, The Easy Way. It's also the easiest way to make me unconfortable :P

16. But Can He Actually Sing!

I have decided not to post up the full version as it was drawn a couple of years ago during a difficult time  and it features someone who I am no longer friends with and it doesn't feel right to put them up. However, this panel stood out, and even Dave said he liked the expression on his face ^_^ *proud*. Story was as follows: three people I know, all amazing, skilled musicians in their own way. Me, the amateur, tries to give it a go and fails. The only consolation is Dave liking (don't know why) my "warble" and the other two telling me I have fabulous hair (which I do ;) )

Basically, 90% of people I know and friends with are musicians, professionals who have been playing for years. I cannot fathom "showing off" potential skills I may (or may not have) have acquired in regards to music. Singing is one of them, I physically cannot tell you whether or not my voice is good. The only thing I say is that I don't have a rock voice, take that how you please.

In reality, people don't know how I actually sound. It's a Catch-22 -_-

15. That Cheeky Morning

My girlfriend actually woke one of our friends up by snuggling up to them. I love my girlfriend, she does crazy things like this :3

14. Meeting New People

I am atrocious at meeting new people, and I have met a lot of people in my life. This is obviously an exaggeration (plus, a rather old one) of when I met Moz from The Downtown Roots. He is good people :) and one hell of extrovert that can make for some amusing conversations as I am the complete opposite in that respect. This was the 2nd attempt of trying to draw Moz, due to his amazing mane.

I try my best when I am introduced to someone, but it always results in the same thing in the end, the blue screen of death. Also, I'm worse with dudes who are a "bit of a lad" (for those across the pond, a "lad" is the UK equivalent of a brodude - see this rather interesting video as an explanation).

The punchline here is that Trev, (the girl who appears in the 2nd panel - yes, her name is Trev and I do have odd friends) knows that I hate being referred as a "lad". Same way she hates being called a social queen ;)

13. It'll Be All Right

Essentially I am dancing to this beautiful song. Yes, I am a man, I am a big Shakira fan and I do know how to belly dance. 

If guys can wiggle their hips during sex, why not in dance? It's all in the hips, lads. Remember that ;) 

I drew this when my friend, Ryan (remember the one with the red hair?) Got kicked out of his band; he used to wear an amazing Russian hat, too :D

Ryan has gone through some pretty amazing times at the moment, you will see soon what I mean :)

12. Playing Guitar

90% of people I know are musicians. Ridiculously talented and professional musicians. I've been learning guitar for 2 years and I wouldn't dare call myself a musician, not by a long shot. Especially not since I'm so awkward with the labels and connotations that comes with calling yourself one. Plus, I'm too damn neurotic and introverted to show it off. As a form of catharsis, I drew this back in 2012 to alleviate some of my "neuroses" when different people see/hear me play.

Recognise Dave? H also has some tunes you should check out. :) Also, do you recognise Moz from Downtown Roots? They good people, but it terrifies me to play in front of them :S Not even Kuro, and she's my girlfriend!

11. Don't Like What I'm Hearing

This is my favourite drawing :)

My default expression in life, or if I've heard something that I don't like or cannot compute (see blue screen of death). It's another oldie from 2012.

At the moment, I'm trying to make small changes to names in my previous drawings to avoid problems. So I'm going through all of my special scans before getting back to the bigger drawings.

9. True Affection

An oldie, but a cutie. I can't really draw hugging; but the facial expressions remain the same :)

Dave and I sharing some good old affection. Friends should share moments like this as often as you can, especially with those who don't live in the same city as you. Gender shouldn't even be factor to determine how much affect you show to each other.

8. 'Cause We Don't Know How To Interact

Once upon a time, I found it really difficulty to interact with people (I still do!). My partner's "little" brother and his friend (remember them from an earlier post?) can be quite laddish sometimes. Fair enough, each to their own, right? :) They good people and a good time and a liver that is second to none, kekekekeke.

But, it did mean some difficulty trying to communicate and interact with each other, 'cause the boorish, lad bravado makes me go BSOD.

Yes, I am a smarmy bastard :P ;)

This was a quick sketch of how awkward it used to get. When in reality, we were just as confused as each other as to why we ignored each O_o I love Pete, even though he can be a shit ;)

According to my friend, Daria (if you remember back in the day when MTV was actually good) is his dream girl :)

6. *Blue Screen Of Death*

This is what happens when I am in an uncomfortable situation, or something is said that I cannot fathom, or there is simply too much of the "social" for me to cope with. The infamous blue screen of death occurs

"We're sorry, we are unable to process your information. Please wait 30 seconds and try again"

This is actually taken from Humon's Scandinavia and the World comic, because I thought it was such a fantastic gag :) Here's the web page for that particular strip.

5. Nothing Makes Sense!

Personally, I just love Doom-Ghost dancing alongside :)

I'm going a little crazy with these updates! I will figure out a more sustainable way of doing so, because these strips are done quite sporadically.

3. Dave is a GENIUS

My friend's philosophy on life. It's a good'un :)

But why "Flying Biscuits"?

One evening, a bunch of friends and myself were playing the Eye Toy for PS2. One of our favourite minigames was the Kung Foo Minigame. As you can see from the video you needed to defend from various ninjas and other..weird things.

From about 2:30 in the video, you can see one of the enemies throwing, what looks like a rice bowl at you. We didn't quite realise they were rice bowls as we have had a little bit to drink and one of my friends yelled out, "look out for the flying biscuits!".

So years later when I started drawing my cartoons, the name stuck and the rest is history :)




So, in reality the origin of the name isn't all that interesting. But it does make me want some biscuits and a cuppa.

2. Llamamuerte vs Doom-Ghost

Long ago, a friend of mine started talking about a demonic llama that feeds off the souls of "bad people". I gave it a name, introducing: Llamamuerte (llama of death in Spanish).

Doom-Ghost as in the previous post was just concocted during a boring Halloween at work. Doom-Ghost is actually very friendly, he just likes to shout "dooooooom" and chase people. He can't really do more than that, he's just a ghost :)
